Redesign Jenius Apps Banking Feature — Evaluation Search Feature “Save It”
“Disclaimer: This case study is part of the Design Challenge and also part of my personal learning process. There is no connection in making a real application. I researched to find Pain Points from Users and create ideation in the form of a service application.”
Introduction
I have a business that is engaged in Font Design and several times I received payments from abroad. In the beginning, I was confused to find what kind of card is more in the way of a debit card and not a credit but can connect to Paypal without having to have a PayPal card. After further investigation, the answer I was waiting for finally appeared and the card was a Jenius card. Since then I signed up to use Jenius and tried to use it for a Paypal connection by accepting payments from abroad with Paypal or sending money overseas.
As time goes by, I try to learn other features in Jenius and I find that Jenius has other features that aim to save money and invest, I just found this feature in it which I think is difficult to find where these features are at first. . The name of this feature is the Save It feature which has 3 unique options in it, namely the Flexi Saver, Dream Saver, and Maxi Saver features. I use the Flexi Saver feature to save money with an additional interest of 4% per year. I also use the Dream Saver feature to collect money for the Holiday Trip by locking a certain amount of money there and it will be withdrawn at the period we have determined when it will be taken.
The thing that makes me most uncomfortable with the Jenius app at the moment is the app, which is getting too laggy to use even every time I open the Jenius app, my cellphone battery is always hot. As well as the application that is difficult to find where it is, I just found out where the Save It feature is after I tried to Explore in it.
Analyze The Problem & Research Finding
Based on personal problems that I experienced, I tried to find out and dig deeper information about what problems are usually faced when using this Jenius application. I interviewed 5 Jenius Application users by conducting interviews. Here is a list of questions I ask them:
- Where do you know the Jenius application?
- What made you want to use the Jenius application?
- What problems are usually found when using the Jenius application?
- Tahu letak Fitur Save It saat pertama kali menggunakan?
- (If they say they don’t know) Why don’t they know?
And after the interview, the following is the answer:
- Know the Jenius application from Friends Recommendations and the Internet
- Using the Jenius application to facilitate overseas transactions
- Constraints that are found usually do not know where the feature is because of its hidden location
- Don’t know where the Save It feature is since you first used the Jenius app
- Don’t know because you don’t know where the feature is
User Persona
The following is one of the Customer Persona of a Jenius User:
Objectives
Based on the data that I have collected above, I have several goals, namely:
- Know how the user interacts with the Jenius page when opening the application for the first time.
- Finding problems faced by users, namely in using the Save It feature which contains Flexi Saver, Dream Saver and Maxi Saver.
- Make solutions to problems faced by users
Scenario Testing To User
In relation to the objectives to be achieved, I compiled a scenario based on the problems faced by users regarding the Save It feature as follows:
“You are someone who likes to invest and save money for future needs and get interest, please use this application to make your dreams come true”
User Flow
Based on the problems faced by Jenius users above, I tried to do User Flow Mapping as follows:
Card Sorting
Although I already have some redesign ideas in my head at this point, it will be very important when I try to start with Card Sorting as it makes it easier to organize what information the User needs.
I think this is very vital considering that categorizing information will make it easier to understand User Behavior and enter it into the Information Architecture that I have created.
Sketching Ideas
After designing User Flow and Grouping Information Architecture using the Card Sorting method, the next step I did was try to do a sketch, in this case I did a sketch through the Invision App.
Low Fidelity Wireframe
The next step I did was to make a Low Fidelity Wireframe, which is still a design in the form of a framework, has not been perfected with various kinds of images and colors. Here is the picture:
High Fidelity Wireframe
After that, I proceeded to create a Precision Design based on the original called High Fidelity Wireframe. Here is the picture:
Prototyping
The following is a Link Prototype created using Figma, Click Here
or the Video Prototype can be watched here
Validate the Idea
Based on the Design Solution that I created, it’s time to validate the Solution Idea to the User. Here are their answers:
- “The design is nice and clean”
- “The Save It feature is easy to find because it is immediately visible on the Home page”
